In the heart of Charlotte, NC, a culinary revolution has been quietly unfolding since 2014. Khuram and Damaris Bashir, a couple hailing from Pakistan and the Dominican Republic respectively, embarked on a gastronomic adventure that would forever change the city’s food landscape. Their brainchild, Mi Barrio Halal Latin Grill, became the cornerstone of what would evolve into a thriving Halal food empire.

Halal Street Food lovers rejoice. The family restaurant is expanding to Camp North End. The fast-casual Middle Eastern restaurant’s second brick-and-mortar location will open at 701 Keswick Ave. Suite 101 this summer.

Hands down the best food truck operating in Charlotte, the chicken over rice is amazing, as are the gyros. I love that they give you extra sauce on the side so you can customize spice level. Regularly visit this food cart & you should too!

We had a short transit in Charlotte & we wanted to explore the city. So, during lunchtime when we were hungry, we were searching for a restaurant then we saw this halal food truck. The food seemed delicious in the picture. We ordered chicken & lamb combo & the food was really yummy & very cheap in price.

Not really familiar with Mediterranean food but this place is absolutely amazing. For like 8 bucks you can get better food than half of the places in the area.

Omg this food is so darn good. The taste… the texture… the quality… the quantity. Yes yes yes. Please try this food truck at least once in your life. I promised you will be hooked. Been eating from this truck for years now. Every time is like the first time! Oh yeah… try that Mexican pineapple soda they have in that cooler beside the truck… Mmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!! The perfect meal. We were walking by the area and stumbled upon this food truck. I have to say, this food truck is so good. I got the chicken and lamb combo – twice! Very flavorful. The food comes out fast after you order. It is also really affordable for the portions you get. I highly recommend!

Yes Yes and ANOTHER YES!!!! I was so excited when we got one in Charlotte as they are on every block in Manhattan! So delicious MUST GET WHITE AND RED SAUCE ALL OVER THE TOP. Just go lighter on red sauce if you don’t like to much spiciness! YUM! The chicken and Rice is THE GO TO!

Halal Food Cart is very common in New York and when we saw the cart in Charlotte we definitely tried the food from Halal Food Cart. From the menu we ordered Chicken Over Rice with Falafel. Get the cash ready as they don’t take credit cards. We got the order in 5 minutes and the order was hot and fresh. The food was amazing and delicious. We really loved the food. We all loved the food and we will try again.
